Which forces enter the Armenian parliament?

The preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held in Armenia on June 7 are being announced.

Medianews.az reports that according to the official report, four contenders are gaining mandates in the election where 18 forces competed for parliament. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party is shown with 49.81 percent, the Strong Armenia bloc with 23.29 percent, the Armenia bloc with 9.94 percent, and the Blossoming Armenia Party with 4 percent of the votes.

To enter the parliament formed by the proportional system, parties must collect 4 percent of the valid votes, while blocs must gather 8 percent.

Born in 1975, Nikol Pashinyan took the prime minister's seat on May 8, 2018, amidst a wave of revolution. His "My Step" bloc won the snap parliamentary elections held on December 9 of that year, and the Civil Contract Party won the snap parliamentary elections held on June 20, 2021.

The leading force of the Strong Armenia bloc is the Strong Armenia Party headed by Samvel Karapetyan. Born in 1965, Samvel Karapetyan is a businessman operating in Russia. In June 2025, he was arrested on charges of calling for a forcible seizure of power and was released to house arrest in December. The Strong Armenia Party was founded in January 2026.

Robert Kocharyan heads the list of candidates of the Armenia bloc. Born in 1954, Robert Kocharyan was the head of the occupying regime in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region from 1992 to 1997. In March 1997, he became the Prime Minister of Armenia. In February 1998, President Levon Ter-Petrosyan resigned. Starting to exercise presidential powers as Prime Minister, Robert Kocharyan was elected head of state in 1998 and 2003.

The leader of the Blossoming Armenia Party, Gagik Sarukyan, is the first on its candidate list. Gagik Sarukyan, born in 1956, is a businessman. He founded the Blossoming Armenia Party in 2004. He was elected as a deputy of parliament in 2003, 2007, 2012, 2017, and 2018.
