Law enforcement agencies of Yazd province in Iran have detained the founder of a sect claiming to be "Jesus Christ".
This was stated by the provincial prosecutor Mehdi Hasanpur.
"The leader of the province's sect initially claimed to be chosen by God, then declared his divinity by referring to 'Jesus Christ'," - Iranian media quoted Hasanpur as saying.
According to the prosecutor, sect members burned the Quran, insulted sacred places and Muslim religious leaders, and prayed for Israel’s victory over Iran. He noted that during the investigation, three key figures in the sect were detained.//Bakıvaxtı.az
