As in March, the number of non-working days in Azerbaijan is also high in May.
Medianews.az reports based on the 2026 working time norm and production calendar that, May 9 is Victory Day over Fascism, May 27 and 28 are Eid al-Adha, and May 28 is Independence Day.
Since May 9 – Victory Day over Fascism falls on a Saturday, Monday – May 11 will also be a non-working day. Thus, there will be three consecutive days off – May 9, 10, and 11.
Interestingly, as in March, two holidays – Eid al-Adha and Independence Day – will coincide in May. According to the Labor Code, due to the overlapping dates of the holidays, May 29 will also be a non-working day. Thus, May 27, 28, 29, as well as the weekend – May 30 and 31 – will be non-working days.
In total, including Saturdays and Sundays, there will be 14 days off in May.
The next working day in Azerbaijan will be June 1.
