The Mexico national team defeated the Czech Republic 3-0 in Group A of the World Cup, finishing the group stage with three wins for the first time in its history.

In the 55th minute, 22-year-old Mateo Chavez opened the scoring and put Mexico ahead. Then, in the 61st minute, Julian Quinones increased the difference and scored his second goal in the tournament. At the end of the match, Alvaro Fidalgo scored the third goal during stoppage time.
With this result, Mexico has finished all its group stage matches with wins for the first time in World Cup history. The team’s previous best performance was two wins and one draw in 1986 and 2002.
Finishing at the top of Group A, Mexico has now advanced to the round of 16, and their next opponent will be determined after the draw.
