There has been an armed attack at a high school located in the town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia province, Canada.
Medianews.az, citing foreign media, reports that at least 10 people have died and 25 were injured as a result of the armed attack. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stated that officers who entered the scene discovered multiple bodies in the school. The suspect believed to be responsible for the attack was also found dead inside the school building. Preliminary information suggests he took his own life by shooting himself.
After the incident, all schools in Tumbler Ridge have been closed until the end of the week. The local education authority announced that psychological and other support would be provided to the community.
British Columbia Minister of Public Safety and Attorney General Nina Kriger called the incident "shocking." She stated that the provincial leadership has mobilized all resources to support the investigation and the local population.
The RCMP announced that the emergency warning has been lifted and there is no further danger to the public.
