Star footballer of the US club "Inter Miami," Lionel Messi, made history by reaching his 900th career goal.
Medianews.az, citing Telegraf, reports that the star footballer achieved this by scoring a goal in the 7th minute of the match against "Nashville" at "Geodis Park" in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16.
This was Messi's 81st goal for "Inter Miami" and the 900th goal in his professional career. With this, the Argentine star became the second player in football history to reach this milestone. The first to reach this milestone was Cristiano Ronaldo (965 goals), who surpassed 900 goals in September 2024.
It is worth noting that Messi scored his first goal at the age of 17 years, 10 months, and 7 days while playing for the Spanish team "Barcelona," becoming the youngest scorer in the club's history. Coming on as a substitute for Samuel Eto’o in May 2005, Messi scored just 3 minutes after entering the pitch.
During his 778 matches with the Catalonia club, Messi scored 672 goals and won numerous titles, including 10 La Liga, 7 Copa del Rey, and 4 Champions League trophies.
The Argentine star has scored 672 goals for "Barcelona," 32 for PSG, 81 for "Inter Miami," and 115 for the Argentina national team. This productivity, regardless of club or country, has brought him to the 900-goal mark.
