The National Assembly regarding their salary decided

Revolutionary changes are expected in the labor market in Azerbaijan. Employers will now prioritize the quality and nature of the work performed by the employee, rather than the employee's gender.

Medianews.az reports that this issue is included in the draft amendments to the Labor Code discussed at the plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis. According to the new rules, it is prohibited to establish a wage difference between female and male employees performing the same or equivalent work. Compliance with this requirement will now be considered a direct responsibility of every employer.

Several important criteria will be taken into account when determining whether the work is of "equal value." These include working conditions, the nature of the work performed, and the requirements set forth in existing tariff-qualification booklets. In other words, the different payment system for persons performing the same duties and working at the same level of difficulty is eliminated.

The draft law was put to a vote in parliament after discussions and was adopted at the second reading.

In other words, with the new law in Azerbaijan, the payment of different wages to women and men for the same job is eliminated, and it becomes mandatory to pay equal wages to everyone working in the same position. //NOCOMMENT.az
