Ten years have passed since the April battles that demonstrated the determination of our Army's victory.

It was noted that the successful counteroffensive operation carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in response to provocations by the Armenian armed forces on the night of April 1 to 2, 2016, marks the beginning of the Glorious Victory path that led to the complete liberation of our territories from occupation. These battles are remembered with respect and pride as the beginning of a great victory for our people and state.
Thanks to the professionalism of our army, the myth of the "invincibility" of the Armenian armed forces, which suffered heavy losses both in manpower and equipment, was shattered, and the determination of our nation for victory rose.
As a result of the decisive strikes of our units, about 30 tanks, more than 25 artillery systems and other armored equipment of the Armenian army were destroyed, 320 soldiers were killed, and more than 500 fighters were wounded.
More than 2,000 hectares of our lands under occupation were liberated; in addition, the Lalatapa height, the village of Jojug Marjanli in the Jabrayil district, and thousands of hectares of strategically important territory came under the full control of our Army.
The bravery and professionalism of the Azerbaijani Army were demonstrated in these battles. The April battles were an important turning point both militarily and psychologically. Thanks to the superiority gained by the Azerbaijani Army in the battles, the belief among our people that our lands would be liberated by military means was further strengthened.
The April battles laid the foundation for the path to Victory in liberating our lands from occupation and were a serious test for our army in terms of experience.
The April victory, which turned into a celebration of unity for the sake of the people-state-army union, has also gone down in history as an expression of the professionalism of the Azerbaijani soldier, the power of our army, and the unparalleled courage of the sons of the Motherland.
On September 27, 2020, in response to the large-scale provocations committed by the Armenian armed forces along the entire front line, under the leadership of our Victorious Supreme Commander, the Azerbaijani Army completed the counteroffensive operation it began with a magnificent historic victory over 44 days.
As a result of successful combat operations in the post-war period, including the Patriotic War and the anti-terror operation, the revenge of our martyrs was taken, separatism was ended, the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan was fully restored throughout the entire territory of our country, our territorial integrity and sovereignty were ensured. Furthermore, large-scale restoration and reconstruction works have been launched in our liberated territories.
