Addictologist and psychiatrist Vasili Shurrov has issued a warning to beer lovers.
Medianews.az reports that he stated both beer and its non-alcoholic counterpart pose health risks.
According to the specialist, abuse of beer can lead to metabolic syndrome, abdominal obesity, increased blood sugar, and elevated arterial pressure.
Shurrov added that non-alcoholic beer is not harmless either. Tremors in people with alcohol dependence very often start precisely with this drink. "Of course, in sunny weather people tend to turn to light drinks to boost their mood, but this can create serious risks," the doctor emphasized.
Specialists recommend paying attention to the amount of beer for health and not considering it as a "harmless drink."
