The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has made an appeal to the public regarding the expected rainy and unstable weather conditions.
Medianews.az reports that the appeal states:
“According to the information from the National Hydrometeorology Service, starting from the evening of June 24 until June 29, intensive rain is forecasted in certain areas, with short-term flash floods and lightning expected in some mountain rivers.
Taking the above into consideration, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds of the relevant safety rules.
In particular, to protect yourself from floods and flash floods that may be caused by heavy rainfall, it is recommended to stay away from flood- and flash flood-dangerous areas, and in case of encountering such danger, immediately move to the nearby high ground.
At the same time, to protect against dangers related to lightning, unplug electrical devices from the network, avoid talking on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.), do not approach electric lines, lightning rods, flagpoles, and antennas while outdoors, do not take shelter under tall trees, choose relatively low-lying places for shelter, and if you are in a car, stop moving, roll up the windows, and wait for the lightning to stop.
Remember: Ignoring the rules is a danger to our lives!
In case of danger, call 112!”
