Regarding the disease spreading in the country OFFICIAL STATEMENT

In recent days, with the cooling of the weather, a seasonal increase in the spread of acute respiratory viral infections, including influenza, has been observed across the country.

Medianews.az reports that the Ministry of Health has issued a statement regarding this.

It was stated that the change in weather conditions, people spending more time indoors, and the weakening of the immune system contribute to the widespread transmission of these infections.

"Currently, the most commonly encountered acute respiratory viral infections among the population are usually accompanied by high fever, cough, sore throat, general weakness, and sometimes complications. For individuals in risk groups — the elderly, those with chronic illnesses, pregnant women, and children — these infections can lead to more severe consequences.

Preventive measures, especially vaccination, play an important role in combating acute respiratory viral infections. Vaccines produced by the company 'Sanofi Pasteur' (France), which are completely safe and of high quality, have been brought into the country by the Ministry of Health to strengthen preventive and anti-epidemic measures.

Vaccination against influenza is considered an effective means not only to reduce the risk of infection but also to prevent severe illness and complications.

Additionally, citizens are advised to follow personal hygiene rules, wash hands regularly, use medical masks in closed and crowded places, stay at home if symptoms of illness are observed, avoid self-medication, and seek timely medical attention.

To protect public health and reduce cases of respiratory diseases, the Ministry of Health calls on citizens to act responsibly, especially urging persons in risk groups to get vaccinated against seasonal influenza.

It was noted that vaccination against influenza is completely free and is conducted in state medical institutions providing outpatient-polyclinic services to the population based on their place of residence or work," the statement added.
