There has been an attack on a tanker off the coast of Oman, and as a result of the damage, part of the fuel has leaked into the sea.
This was reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Centre under the Royal Navy.
"UKMTO has received information regarding an incident that occurred 60 nautical miles east of Muscat, Oman. The tanker’s captain reported that an external explosion occurred at the rear port side of the vessel near the water boundary," the report states.
Although the crew members and the ship are currently safe, it is noted that part of the bunker fuel has spilled into the sea.
