Average monthly salary has increased

As of March 1, 2026, the number of wage-employed workers in the country was 1,784.0 thousand people, of whom 870.6 thousand were engaged in the public sector, and 913.4 thousand were active in the non-public sector.

Medianews.az reports that this information was released by the State Statistical Committee (SSC).

It was stated that 18.5 percent of wage-employed workers were involved in trade; repair of motor vehicles, 18.3 percent in education, 13.8 percent in industry, 8.6 percent in health care and social services provided to the population, 6.5 percent in construction, 6.1 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4 percent in transportation and warehousing, 4.0 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4 percent in financial and insurance activities, 2.3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 15.1 percent were engaged in other sectors of the economy.

In January-February 2026, the average monthly nominal wage of wage-employed workers in the country increased by 5.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, reaching 1099.1 manat.
