Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov spoke about how he started learning the Turkish language during his time at the institute.
Medianews.az, referring to Report, reports that he spoke about this in an interview with "Channel One".
According to him, successfully passing the regional exams allowed students to choose the languages they wanted to learn:
"Even the second time, I did not score enough points to obtain the right to choose the language myself. I wanted to learn Arabic. Due to low results, as a punishment, they forced me to learn Turkish. But after dealing with the Turkish language and Turkology for only a few years, I actually realized that this was very good."
It should be noted that Dmitry Peskov graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Countries under Moscow State University in 1989 and was immediately hired by the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
