Behind the global internet hidden truths

Regardless of one's personal attitude toward the Internet and internet technologies, anyone who contemplates the nature of the modern global trends observed worldwide soon comes to the conclusion that the global internet is an inevitable catalyst of changes as a universal tool of social engineering. A small remark: global trends, ideological decline, conflictual situations, social apathy, distortion of traditional values, social irresponsibility, a tendency toward populism in politics, social depression, protest culture, false socio-political stereotypes, the impoverishment of aesthetic taste, and other similar phenomena are precisely the "products" of social engineering. Nowadays, everyone can more clearly imagine how frightening and even dangerous a "weapon" social engineering is for society and the state. We can even add that in the age of information technology, "social engineering" is like a nuclear weapon: its destructive or creative power depends on who uses this "weapon".

Medianews.az reports that these thoughts are found in political scientist Asif Adil’s article titled "The Truths Hidden Behind the Global Internet".

The article also states: "The modern citizen, who regularly witnesses various politically stressful situations worldwide, has long guessed that the massive financial and information corporations representing global powers are not at all driven by their 'world-loving' ideals in the projects they implement. Over long decades, the social-cultural quality called ‘political naivety’, which is characteristic of the societies of world countries, gradually fades into history like examples from ancient culture. The global internet policy has made it easier, and the number of information sources spreading 'false truths' is rapidly increasing. As a result, firstly our culture and art, and later our socio-political relations lost their moral 'brakes', and some processes developed to an irreversible level.

Considering some features of the internet—which is the main "cause" of the abundance of information worldwide—and the existence of millions of "information wastes," we can easily prove that the information abundance we witness is not a coincidental phenomenon. Without a doubt, we must also add that where there is an "abundance of information," the "magical" scent of social engineering must also come. Where there is a lot of information but little professionalism, biased commentary increases, manipulation becomes commonplace, and regular “short circuits” occur in the management system."

The author notes that in the development of the current context, we have uncovered the direct hidden sides of the global internet that we need to know. In systems without professional level and analytical skills, an uncontrolled and endless flow of information can lead to a management crisis. For this reason, we continuously witness artificially provoked geopolitical transformation processes. Such steps by global social engineers aim to increase artificial stresses worldwide. "Stressful" situations reveal "gaps" in the governance systems of states. Of course, one of the main targets of the predatory geostrategies of global powers competing to increase their influence areas is exactly creating various kinds of "crises" within the governance systems of independent states. At the very least, such crises increase the opportunities for "superpowers" to interfere in the internal affairs of concrete countries.

"Based on international experience, we can say that in systems that rely only on administrative resources and lack a professional level adequate to real situations, uncontrolled information abundance can lead to the next main negative consequences: a stressful environment, inertial behavior, emotional decisions, constant changes in strategic goals and priorities, the emergence of struggle tendencies within the system, allocation of additional resources to solve endless problems, the desire to acquire extra ‘insurance cards’ within the ruling team, total caution and mutual suspicion atmosphere, increased errors, etc. After such tendencies develop, the government of a specific state begins to seek solutions to its difficulties outside the country and thus falls into a geopolitical trap.

It is no coincidence that President Ilham Aliyev always emphasizes in his official speeches that Azerbaijan's ability to conduct independent politics is, in principle, a state's inviolable strategic resource. Here we recall once again the following remarks made by the head of our state at the sixth convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan held on March 10, 2020: "They may dislike us precisely because of these actions, because of our independent policy," "As Azerbaijan, we have long been facing these slander campaigns. The main reason for this is our independent policy, and not bowing before anyone," "Today we live as an independent country, conduct independent politics, do not interfere in anyone’s affairs, and do not allow anyone to interfere in ours."

Therefore, all attempts directly aimed at restricting the independent policy built on national interests must be firmly prevented. The forces engaged in dangerous manipulations under the name of "democracy" and conducting information provocations on the internet must not be tolerated. We must protect independent politics as much as our independence. Being aware of the responsibility to future generations, we must not allow our territory to turn into an arena for harsh geopolitical struggles by those seeking influence and dominance once again.

The new era demands new qualities and skills from governance systems. The systematic reforms continuously carried out in our country under the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev are precisely aimed at forming the necessary qualities adequate to changing realities. Yes, the steps taken in the current direction may sometimes be unpopular, but they are certainly forward-looking and serve to increase the resistance potential of the national political system. Thus, although awareness is an important factor in governance, the characteristics of the modern era prioritize "analytics" and "creativity" in state policy," Asif Adil stated.
