Medianews.az reports that the Sumqayit City Executive Power has issued a statement regarding this matter.
The statement from the executive authority notes that no instructions have been given by the leadership of the Sumqayit City Executive Power in this regard.
“For your information, technical renewal works related to the gas supply have been carried out by SOCAR’s ‘Azerigaz’ Production Union in the religious and charitable houses located within the city. Within this framework, gas meters were renewed, and the process of signing new contracts was carried out. Due to the ongoing work, there were temporary interruptions in gas supply. However, so far, the Sumqayit City Executive Power has not received any applications from residents regarding the suspension of activities in any religious or charitable houses. Should such applications be received, the matter will be investigated together with the relevant authorities and clarified. We emphasize once again that the circulated information is unfounded,” the statement reads.
