An explosion occurred in a residential building located in the 42nd district of Sumgayit city.
Medianews.az reports that the incident was reported to the Emergency Situations Ministry’s "112" hotline.
In connection with the information, forces from the State Fire Protection Service of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Sumgayit City Fire Protection Department were immediately dispatched to the area.
During the assessment of the operational situation at the scene, it was determined that a non-fire accompanied explosion occurred in the bathroom of an apartment owned by a citizen located on the first floor of a five-story residential building.
As a result of the blast wave, the wooden paneled ceiling of the bathroom of the three-room apartment, with a total area of 64 sq.m., was damaged over an area of 6 sq.m., and one kitchen window pane was broken. A minor born in 2016 suffered various degrees of injuries.
The Emergency Situations Ministry forces implemented appropriate safety measures at the scene.
An investigation is being conducted by the relevant authorities regarding the incident.
