Xəyal Məzahir oğlu Əlizadə, who is accused of ordering the murder of Vüsal Şilder, has been extradited to Azerbaijan.
Medianews.az reports that this information was provided by the Ministry of Justice.
It was stated that another person, who was put on international wanted list 13 years ago by the Interpol National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan and whose whereabouts have now been determined, was extradited to Azerbaijan by the ministry on April 10.
Specifically, in 2013, entering into a premeditated criminal collaboration, the Azerbaijani citizen Xəyal Məzahir oğlu Əlizadə was accused under Articles 120.2.1 and 120.2.5 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan of ordering the deliberate killing of V. Şilder, a foreign citizen, by promising a large sum of money in order to achieve the murder through a group he was involved with, and eventually, through the executor Elman İsgəndərov, stabbing V. Şilder in various parts of the body, leading to his deliberate deprivation of life. His location was determined in the United Arab Emirates and he was arrested.
Considering the possibility of the said person being in the United Arab Emirates, the required documents were sent to that country in 2023 in accordance with international procedures. Through ongoing negotiations and after the person was arrested, consent was obtained for his extradition to Azerbaijan. This, in turn, once again confirms Azerbaijan's existing reputation in the international arena and the United Arab Emirates as a reliable partner for our state.
Xəyal Məzahir oğlu Əlizadə was brought from the United Arab Emirates to Azerbaijan by responsible officials from the Ministry of Justice's Main Department of International Cooperation and the Penitentiary Service of the ministry, and based on the court's arrest decision, he was placed in the respective investigative detention facility.
