Honored artist Abbas Baghirov has commented on the discussion of singers' fees.
Medianews.az reports that the performer criticized those who condemn the high amount. He stated that he is receiving the reward for his hard work:
"When discussing an artist's fee, one should be a bit more careful. It is easy to research and share some figure. But one must also consider the effort, responsibility, and the large team behind that figure. The fee an artist receives is not just their personal income. At least a team of 12-15 people works around a singer: musicians, sound engineer, technical staff, assistants, helpers, and other collaborators. Each of their labor, effort, and income is included within that fee.
And it doesn't end there. Purchasing songs, arrangements, studio expenses, shooting clips, stage costumes, advertising, and other professional activities require large financial resources. Most importantly, behind the success seen on stage today stands years of hard work, sleepless nights, thousands of kilometers traveled, and great sacrifice.
Therefore, when discussing an artist's fee, one should look not only at the figure but also at the effort and professionalism behind that figure. Everyone deserves to receive the reward for their hard work and years dedicated to their art."
It should be noted that some time ago, news spread that A. Baghirov demanded 6,000 AZN for a half-hour performance at wedding parties and 18,000 AZN for conducting the entire wedding. (Milli.Az)
