Social protection of teachers and other educators, who are among the main participants of the education system, is ensured by legislation. These guarantees cover issues such as their working conditions, salaries, additional benefits, and stimulation of professional activities.
Medianews.az reports that, according to the news provided by AzEdu.az based on the "Law on Education," the state provides social protection for educators, and the mechanisms applied in this field are regulated by relevant legislative acts.
According to the legislation, educators can benefit from salary supplements, incentive payments, concessions, and various types of leave rights. Additional social guarantees are envisaged for educational employees belonging to certain categories.
What guarantees exist regarding the social protection of educators?
- The state provides social protection for educators;
- The salaries and official wages of educational workers are determined taking into account their functional duties, professional characteristics, qualification degree, and work experience;
- State and municipal education institutions may assign salary supplements and other incentive payments from extrabudgetary funds;
- Scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff working in state and municipal educational institutions receive supplements to their official wages based on scientific degrees and scientific titles;
- Additional salary supplements are applied to educational workers engaged in inclusive education, working in special education institutions, as well as those working in high mountainous, border, and remote settlements according to legislation;
- Additional concessions and incentive measures are applied for young specialists who have graduated with higher and secondary specialized education in pedagogical specialties and started working in general education institutions;
- Educators are granted educational and creative leaves in accordance with procedures established by legislation.
