Good News for Applicants - Points will decrease in these groups

The results of the first attempt block exam for the II and III specialty groups were announced the day before yesterday. According to the answers, 3 people scored the maximum points in Group III. The highest scores by groups were 688.9 and 690.

Unlike previous years, this year there are no applicants who scored 700 points yet. So, could the absence of a maximum score overall cause the passing scores to decrease?

Medianews.az reports that Ramin Nuraliyev, a specialist in specialty selection and future career as well as an expert in education, stated in an interview with lent.az that the current results indicate a drop in passing scores:

"Although there were applicants who scored 400 points in the block exams of the II and III specialty groups, unfortunately, no one scored 700 points overall. The main reason for this was the difficulty of the graduation exam questions. Although the State Examination Center says that the questions are not that difficult, reality shows the opposite. Only 11 applicants scored 300 points among those taking the exam. Naturally, we expected those 11 applicants to score 700 points. We see that applicants scored 700 points in the last two previous years. The current situation is not pleasant at all.

Currently, the maximum scores in the II and III groups range between 688-690. These figures indicate that the scores of each applicant will gradually decrease. That is, the number of people scoring 500-400-300 points will also be less than in previous years. Based on this, we can say that according to the first attempt block exam results, the passing scores of specialties will decrease. Only if the second attempt block exam is easier will there be a change in the scores. For now, our forecasts are leaning towards the scores dropping.

Applicants state that their scores are lower than they expected, and that they achieved higher results in the trials. If the second attempt block exam is made a bit easier, there will be some adjustment in the passing scores. However, based on experience, I can say that the State Examination Center conducts block exams each year at approximately the same level.

The current overall situation is not encouraging. Because when the applicant's score is lower than expected, they inevitably go through tension, experience disappointment, and problems arise at home and with the family. Taking these into account, the State Examination Center should be careful not to make the questions difficult in the next exam.”
