Robert William, an Armenian by nationality, has been appointed as the police chief of Glendale city in the state of California, USA.
Medainaews.az reports that the appointment took place on June 23.
Robert William is the first Armenian to hold this position in Glendale.
Although his last name is not Armenian, both Robert's father and mother are Armenian, and according to him, they always spoke Armenian at home.
There is no information on the internet about where Robert William was born. It is only reported that his family lived for a while in Armenia and the Middle East, and they moved to the USA in 1980 when Robert was 8 years old.
Robert William, who has lived in the USA since the age of 8, has been working in the police system since 2003. After 2020, he led various bureaus in the Glendale police department and served as deputy police chief from September 2025. He has been exercising the powers of police chief since January 2026.
