31-year-old Kainat Namazov, who was accused of killing his mother and sister in Tovuz, has been released from punishment.
According to the information obtained by “Qafqazinfo”, the Shaki Serious Crimes Court made such a decision.
It is written in the investigation materials of the incident that took place last summer that Kainat Namazov, in an unconscious state, killed his mother Sevinc Namazova and sister Aliya Namazova by hitting their heads with a hammer. (Previously, it had been reported that an axe was used as the weapon - editor) After that, he deliberately destroyed the property by setting fire to the house they lived in.
Kainat, who was arrested for a particularly serious crime, was medically examined and it was confirmed that he was unconscious. On this basis, the prosecutor also requested that he be released from punishment and subjected to compulsory treatment.
However, Kainat gave an unexpected statement in court. He said that he did not suffer from any mental illness, and that he remembered how and under what circumstances he committed the crime. Kainat stated that he killed his mother and sister because they portrayed him as mentally ill and forced him to stay in hospitals at various times.
Despite these statements from the accused, the court considered it proven that he committed the crime while unconscious.
According to the decision, Kainat was released from criminal responsibility and punishment. His treatment was entrusted to the No. 1 Republican Psychiatric Hospital of the Ministry of Health.
It should be noted that K.Namazov’s father, Elbrus Namazov, was a former official. Father Namazov worked for a long time in responsible positions at the Tovuz district branch of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
