Shakhtar's head coach Arda Turan has no intention of leaving his post next season and moving to another club.
He stated this in a comment given to the website "Tribuna.com".
"Will I stay at Shakhtar next season? Of course. Thank you," Turan said in English.
He then continued his answer in Turkish, but Shakhtar players, who doused their coach with champagne, interrupted his words. The "Miners" won the gold medal with three rounds left until the end of the championship.
"Speaking in the context of the upcoming season, regardless of who will represent Ukraine in European competitions next season – Dinamo, Polissya, LNZ, Metalist 1925 – I would like to see that all of them deserve proper conditions to compete on two fronts. We must help each other and, if possible, I would like to convey the importance of making certain changes in the calendar that would allow better maneuvering in similar situations regarding competing on two arenas.
I am infinitely grateful to the Ukrainian people for accepting me and being by my side every day. To see their smiles, embraces, and sincerity despite the conditions they live in – it is difficult to describe this in words. I express my deepest gratitude," Turan noted./publik.az
