"Eurovision" predictions have been updated

Medianews.az has once again reviewed the predictions of Eurovisionworld.com for the "Eurovision 2026" international song contest.

The predictions are based on betting statistics from bookmakers.

Finland, represented by the duet Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkonnen, leads with a 31 percent chance of victory.

France is shown with an 11 percent chance, Denmark 10, Australia 8, Greece 7, Israel 6, Sweden 4, Romania, Ukraine, and Italy 3, Cyprus and the Czech Republic 2 percent chance in the forecasts.

The remaining countries' chances of winning are considered to be 1 percent or less.

35 countries are participating in the contest hosted by the Austrian capital Vienna. In the first semifinal (May 12), Moldova, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Georgia, Finland, Montenegro, Estonia, Israel, Belgium, Lithuania, San Marino, Poland, Serbia participate; in the second semifinal (May 14), Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Romania, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Armenia, Switzerland, Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Australia, Ukraine, Albania, Malta, Norway take part.

From each semifinal, 10 tickets go to the final. Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy will join the contest in the final (May 16).

Azerbaijan will be represented in the contest by Jamila Hashimova. The country has previously participated in 17 "Eurovision" contests. In 2008, Elnur Huseynov and Samir Javadzade took 8th place, in 2009 Aysel Teymurzade and Arash 3rd place, in 2010 Safura Alizade 5th place, in 2011 Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov 1st place, in 2012 Sabina Babayeva 4th place, in 2013 Farid Mammadov 2nd place, in 2014 Dilara Kazimova 22nd place, in 2015 Elnur Huseynov 12th place, in 2016 Samra Rahimli 17th place, in 2017 Diana Hajiyeva 14th place, in 2019 Chingiz Mustafayev 8th place, in 2021 Samira Efendi 20th place, in 2022 Nadir Rustamli 16th place.

In 2018, Aysel Mammadzade, in 2023 Tural and Turan Bagmanov, in 2024 Fakhri Ismayilov and Ilkin Dovletov, and in 2025 the "Mamaqama" group did not pass the semifinals.

The public broadcasting organization, a project of the European Broadcasting Union, "Eurovision" contest winners since 1956 have been: Ireland and Sweden 7 times, Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and the United Kingdom 5 times, Israel 4 times, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Norway, and Ukraine 3 times, Spain and Germany 2 times, Monaco, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Greece, Finland, Serbia, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Portugal once.
