So why do young people engage in such behaviors and try to showcase their “skills” on social media? According to experts, this is primarily driven by the desire to attract attention, gain popularity on social networks, and a mistaken understanding of reputation.
Medianews.az reports that psychologists state these behaviors stem from a need for self-affirmation. According to them, some young people try to gain the attention they cannot achieve in real life through risky and illegal actions on social media.
Experts also explain this by a weak sense of responsibility and improper evaluation of risks. Such actions, carried out in order to gain “likes” and “followers” on social networks, often result in serious legal consequences – fines and imprisonment.
Experts believe that to prevent this trend, awareness efforts should be intensified, and a culture of safe driving should be established among youth.
