In January-March of this year, Azerbaijan imported 12,299 tons of meat.
Medianews.az, citing the State Customs Committee, reports that the value of this amount of meat was 28 million 630 thousand US dollars.
Compared to the same period last year, these figures represent an increase of 410 tons (3.4%) in volume and 3 million 805 thousand dollars (15.3%) in value.
During the reporting period, the expenditure on meat imports accounted for 0.7% of Azerbaijan's total import expenses.
Over 3 months, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth 9 billion 407 million US dollars with foreign countries. This is 21.9% less compared to the same period last year.
Of the foreign trade turnover, 5 billion 402 million US dollars were exports and 4 billion 5 million US dollars were imports. Over the last year, exports decreased by 15.4%, and imports decreased by 29.3%.
As a result, a positive trade balance of 1 billion 398 million dollars was formed in foreign trade. This is 93.4% more compared to the annual comparison.
