FIFA has decided to cut the operational budget of the World Cup by more than 100 million dollars.
According to Medianews.az, "The Athletic" reports that the organization's main priority is the redistribution of 90 percent of revenues within the framework of global football.
According to the information, the budget cuts raise questions against the background of a significant financial burden borne by American taxpayers and record-high ticket prices for fans.
"FIFA regularly evaluates budget efficiency in order to keep expenses under control and maximize investments aimed at the development of football internationally. This should not be unexpected, as we conduct budget reviews before each tournament and event. Claims that the budget optimization efforts are related to the upcoming FIFA presidential elections are completely unfounded," the organization stated.
