At least 11 people have died as a result of clashes between farmers and herders in eastern Chad.
The incident was recorded in several villages located in the Kim district of the East Mayo-Kebi region. The conflict was caused by livestock damaging crop fields.
According to reports, five more people were injured during the confrontation. In addition, it is reported that houses in several villages were set on fire.
It should be noted that in Chad, conflicts between farmers and herders frequently occur over land and pasture areas. According to the latest information from the country’s Ministry of Public Security and Migration, during 2024–2025, similar clashes resulted in 3,018 deaths and 3,015 injuries./AZERTAC
