Experts say that widely available ready-made “noodle” products pose a danger to children’s health. The high salt and food additives in them negatively affect the vascular system, paving the way for high blood pressure at an early age.
Medianews.az reports that Turkish pediatric nephrologist Nilüfer Göknar spoke on the topic.
The doctor notes that some children consume several packets of “noodles” a day and cases have been observed where blood pressure decreases with the reduction of this food.
According to experts, excessive salt intake causes water retention and increased pressure in the body. This adds extra burden on the kidneys. Also, monosodium glutamate (MSG) in the content reduces the feeling of satiety, leading to overeating.
These factors increase the risk of obesity and hypertension. It is noted that uncontrolled high blood pressure in children increases the likelihood of heart diseases and stroke in the future.
Doctors advise parents to limit the use of packaged foods and prioritize healthier nutrition.
