A person who fired a hunting rifle to kill a snake in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa province, Turkey, caused injuries to 5 people due to negligence.
The incident was recorded in the Üstüntaş neighborhood.
According to information, 56-year-old H.Ö. fired a licensed hunting rifle at a snake he saw in his house to neutralize it.
As a result of the shooting, R.Ö. (59), E.Y. (31), as well as 4-year-old Y.B., 4-year-old M.S.Y., and 6-year-old F.E. suffered minor injuries due to rifle pellets and stone fragments scattered around.
Gendarmerie and emergency medical teams were deployed to the scene. After receiving initial medical aid, the injured were taken to Siverek State Hospital.
According to information provided by the doctors, the condition of the injured is satisfactory.
