How to strengthen immunity? - The doctor explained

Procedures for combating stress, strengthening the body, and normalizing the functioning of the autonomic nervous system help strengthen immunity.

This was stated by Doctor of Medicine, Professor Andrey Shabaldin in an interview with "RIA Novosti".

The professor explained that first and foremost it is necessary to combat stress, and in this matter, it is possible and important to seek the help of psychologists and psychotherapists. He noted that in most cases it is more necessary to strengthen the autonomic nervous system than the immune system, and this can be done through proper nutrition.

Shabaldin stated that it is recommended to consume food five to six times a day; during this, the diet should be balanced in terms of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, and also should not contain too many irritants such as fried, smoked, salty products, and carbonated drinks, as well as pollutants like dyes, stabilizers, and preservatives.

The specialist also advised performing procedures that strengthen the body, especially alternating walking in hot and cold water, pouring hot, warm, and cold water on the body, and sleeping with the window open in any season of the year. The doctor emphasized that all these methods are well-known, but people rarely use them in practice, preferring to wait for a "magic" pill.

In addition, Shabaldin recommended activating the "joy zones" in the brain. For this, he suggested, for example, looking at the rising sun in the mornings so that the sun’s rays directly affect the retina of the eye; this, in turn, facilitates the production of endorphin-like molecules — "joy molecules." /pulbika.az
