An 87-year-old man died during an MRI examination in Russia.
Medianews.az reports that the tragedy occurred in July of last year in the city of Artyom, located in Primorsky.
According to information, the patient had a pacemaker in the chest area, yet an MRI examination was conducted on him. The doctor did not properly check the patient's medical documents and did not take safety precautions into account.
As a result of the influence of the magnetic field, the pacemaker malfunctioned, leading to acute cardiovascular failure.
The doctor is accused on the charge of "causing death by negligence due to failure to properly perform professional duties," and the case has been sent to court.
