Videos have been shared on social networks regarding one of the bridges in the Nizami district of Baku city, at the "Koroglu" transport hub, posing a danger to drivers.
According to , based on the video, it is said that part of the bridge is in a hazardous condition.
In response to our inquiry, Anar Nəcəfli, the press secretary of the Azerbaijan State Agency of Automobile Roads (AAYDA), stated that the part seen in this footage is a deformation joint located in the zone where the cantilever of the overpass structure rests on the support (temperature joint).
"This joint is a constructive element intended to compensate for movements caused by temperature changes and other operational loads in the bridge structure and is considered normal from a technical standpoint. In other words, the circulating footage is not an indication of any accident situation or dangerous structural problem in the bridge. Regular technical inspections and monitoring are conducted on the bridges, and their operational condition is constantly supervised by the relevant specialists.
