The delay in deducting funds from bank cards during NFC payments in Azerbaijan's public transportation is not related to the operations of international card organizations "Visa" and "Mastercard".
This was stated by the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), Taleh Kazimov, at a press conference held today.
"The experience in most countries regarding transportation payments is such that when the terminal accepts the payment, it operates offline, cannot check at that moment whether there is money in the card account, but allows you to use the transportation, registering the debt itself. After a few hours, or even after a day, if there is money in the account, it is cleared. We are currently discussing improving this process with the banks. But if there are synchronization problems, they will be resolved. However, I believe it is necessary to regulate the systems of "Visa" and "Mastercard" because this issue causes misunderstandings among the public," he noted./axar.az
