One of the well-known figures of Turkish cinema, Şehnaz Dilan, spoke about one of the most difficult periods of her life years later.
Medianews.az reports that the Turkish site "Yasemin" has published information about this.
The 65-year-old actress stated that her son was diagnosed with blood cancer (leukemia) and that she fought a great battle for a long time for his treatment.
According to the actress, her son was treated in the hospital for months, and this process was very difficult for the family both financially and emotionally. Dilan called that period the hardest phase of her life.
She noted that they stayed in the hospital for about eight months. The actress said that the state only provides support for a certain period, yet she continued to recover and did not share the difficulties she experienced with just anyone.
Şehnaz Dilan said that the greatest support she received was from her close friend, the famous singer İbrahim Tatlıses.
"I was very helpless. I called him and told him about my situation. He immediately sent a car and invited me to his place. He asked, 'What do you need?' I wanted to formalize the debt, but he refused," the actress said.
Şehnaz Dilan added that her son underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2020. The treatment process is still ongoing, and sometimes they have difficulties covering the cost of medicine.
