The words spoken by well-known comedy actor Hasan Can Kaya in his own program about the city where a young girl was born have sparked discussions and caused dissatisfaction.
Medianews.az, citing Musavat.com, reports that Kaya has come into the spotlight this time with a dialogue he had with a young girl participating in his show.
During the program, when the girl approached the microphone and was asked where she was from, the comedian could not hide his surprise upon hearing the answer “Batman.” Hasan Can Kaya asked the girl named Bahar, “Are you from Batman?” and then said:
“My dear, how are you from Batman? Turn around so they can see you. Friends, she is from Batman, but she looks extremely westernized.”
These words have sparked wide discussions on social networks. Especially on social media pages related to the city of Batman, protests against the comedian have been voiced:
“This is an insult to Batman, which is a big city, and to the people from Batman.”
