The historic building was sold - The price surprised everyone

The building of the former Carmelite monastery complex, where Napoleon stayed for a while, in the city of Glubokoye, Belarus, has been sold.

Musavat.com reports that "RIA Novosti," citing the Belarus Universal Commodity Exchange's "BUTB-Property" electronic trading platform, provided this information.

The building, which has historical and cultural value, was sold for a symbolic price of 47.25 Belarusian rubles (approximately 28.38 manat).

In addition to the lot's value, the sole bidder who purchased the building paid 5 percent of the amount according to auction rules. The new owner must sign protection obligations within a month and must obtain the relevant permission from the Ministry of Culture within a year after the purchase to carry out repair and restoration works.
