As the summer season begins and millions of people make holiday plans, household appliance experts have issued an important warning.
Demokrat.az reports that, according to research, about one-fifth of people returning from vacation find their household appliances malfunctioning or damaged.
Experts particularly emphasize that washing machines require special care before the holiday. Devices that are unused for a long time have an increased risk of bacteria, mold, and unpleasant odors developing.
Key measures to take before the holiday
According to experts' recommendations, it is essential to perform the following steps on the washing machine before leaving the house:
Running the machine empty on a high-temperature wash program using a cleaning agent
Cleaning the filter part and wiping the rubber seal with a special solution
Keeping the machine door open to prevent moisture accumulation
These actions are said to prevent bacteria and mold from forming inside the device.
"Standby" mode causes extra expenses
Experts also point out that leaving devices plugged in during the holiday increases energy consumption; even devices like dishwashers, dryers, coffee makers, and kettles continue to use electricity in "standby" mode even if not in use.
At the same time, it is noted that leaving electronic devices such as televisions, computers, and printers turned on also leads to additional energy loss. Therefore, it is recommended to completely turn off these devices and unplug them before leaving the house.
