Turkey's national football team qualifying for the World Cup after 24 years has brought both great joy and significant financial income to the country. The "Crescent-stars" have already secured millions of dollars just for participating in the tournament.
Medianews.az, referring to Idman.Biz, reports that FIFA has increased the total prize fund for WC-2026 by 50%, reaching a record high of 727 million dollars.
The Turkish team, which qualified for the tournament, has already credited its account with a "walking-around" money amounting to 10.5 million dollars (17.85 million AZN). This amount includes 1.5 million dollars for preparation expenses and 9 million dollars for participating in the group stage.

Champion: 50 million dollars (85 million AZN)
Runner-up: 33 million dollars (56.1 million AZN)
Third place: 29 million dollars (49.3 million AZN)
Fourth place: 27 million dollars (45.9 million AZN)
