A new phase in heart surgery - 80–90% of operations ....

Robotic technology is increasingly replacing open surgery in heart operations. This method, performed with minimal incisions, allows patients to recover faster and return to daily life in a short time. In recent years, the widely adopted robotic heart surgery offers a less invasive approach compared to classic open surgeries.

Medianews.az reports that Turkish cardiovascular surgeon Prof. Dr. Saygın Türkyılmaz stated that this technology increases both patient safety and treatment comfort.

According to the specialist, the robotic method shortens the hospital stay, reduces the risk of infection, and accelerates the healing process. Patients return to their daily lives faster.

Currently, approximately 80-90 percent of heart operations are performed using robotic surgery. Procedures such as coronary bypass, heart valve operations, closure of holes in the heart, and aortic dilatation are successfully carried out with this method.

The robotic system provides the surgeon with high precision control through 3D imaging. This means clearer visibility in difficult anatomical areas and less risk.

The specialist noted that although robotic surgery is not suitable for every patient, it is preferred as the first choice in appropriate cases.
