Claim of a G20 invitation to Putin from the USA: It could be the first time in 7 years.

It is claimed that the United States is considering inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit to be held in Miami in December.

The G20 is a major intergovernmental forum that brings together the world's largest economies (19 countries + European Union + African Union).

According to Medianews.az, if invited to the Miami summit and if he accepts the invitation, this will mean Putin will attend the G20 summit for the first time since 2019.

According to information, official invitations for the summit meeting planned for December 14-15 have not yet been sent. US officials emphasize that Russia is a G20 member and say that Moscow can be invited to events both at the ministerial and leaders’ levels.

Although US President Donald Trump said he was not informed about the matter, he also noted that he would not oppose such an invitation.

Recall that Vladimir Putin last attended the G20 summit held in Osaka, Japan, in 2019. In subsequent years, he either joined the events online or sent representatives.
