Baku-Nakhchivan flights returned back

The planes operating Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) flights J2-285 and J2-291 on the Baku-Nakhchivan route have returned to Baku due to the thunderstorm weather conditions and hail in the region. The planes successfully landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 21:27 and 21:32, respectively.

This was reported to Medianews.az by the Press Service of "Azerbaijan Airlines" JSC.

It should be noted that the unfavorable weather conditions are expected to continue today. Passengers will be provided with detailed information about possible changes, and flights will continue to operate on schedule once the weather stabilizes.

"For your information, the unstable weather conditions observed in Nakhchivan in recent days have complicated the execution of flights on the Baku–Nakhchivan–Baku route according to the planned schedule, causing certain changes to the flight timetable. Due to Nakhchivan’s geographical location and mountainous terrain, wind, limited visibility, and rapidly changing meteorological conditions often directly affect flight operations. Therefore, to ensure the safe completion of flights, operational decisions are made in accordance with the weather conditions," the JSC reported.
