Hundreds of passengers use the metro every day, and during this time, there are cases of various personal belongings being forgotten in the carriages or stations.
So, where are the forgotten items taken, and what procedures must be followed to get them back?
Medianews.az reports that in response to an inquiry from Milli.Az, Elbrus Ibrahimov, a representative of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (DİN), stated that all found items are kept at the metropolitan police department and are awaited to be returned to their owners by the police officers.
He noted that when a citizen applies concerning the loss of their belongings, they are invited to the police department. According to the procedure, a receipt is issued, and the item is handed over to its owner:
"It should be noted that if the citizen does not apply within one month, the found items are handed over to the Lost and Found Bureau of the Baku City Police Department."
