During the 11 non-working days related to the Ramadan and Novruz holidays, 29 road traffic accidents resulting in death and injury were recorded on the country's roads.
Medianews.az reports that this information was provided by the Main State Traffic Police Department in response to an inquiry from "Report".
It was noted that the majority of accidents that occurred in the capital area involved pedestrians being hit. Incidents characterized by collisions and overturns mainly took place on highways and intercity roads.
Observations indicate that the causes of these incidents mainly include speeding, violation of overtaking and maneuvering rules, drivers operating vehicles while tired and sleepy, use of mobile phones behind the wheel, as well as pedestrians behaving carelessly while crossing the road.
The Main State Traffic Police Department once again reminds that ensuring safety in road traffic depends on every participant strictly following the rules and behaving attentively and responsibly. Violations of the rules can lead to serious consequences at any time.
