Monk Richmond Aquasi Frimponq from Ghana and his assistant attempted to bury a 5-month-old baby alive.
Medianews.az reports that the incident occurred in the village of Abofrem.
One of the villagers happened to witness what was happening. He observed the monk and his assistant with the baby at the garbage dump late at night and realizing they were trying to bury the child, immediately raised an alarm.
The baby was rescued and admitted to the hospital. A representative of the village leadership stated that the monk first lied, saying that the child was already dead. Currently, Frimponq and his assistant have been detained by the police. An investigation is underway.
