Important warning from the dietitian regarding iftar: Leaving the table quickly can be a mistake

Proper and balanced nutrition during the month of Ramadan is of special importance for health.

Medianews.az reports that dietitian Sena Nur Bubani has given important recommendations regarding nutrition mistakes made during iftar.

She stated that eating quickly and uncontrollably at iftar after fasting all day is harmful to health. A person who eats quickly does not fully realize how much and what they are eating, and as a result consumes 30-40 percent more calories than needed. Eating slowly allows both portion control and lower calorie intake.

The specialist recommended spending at least 30 minutes at the iftar table. According to her, the satiety signal reaches the brain in about 30 minutes. Those who leave the table earlier than this period do not feel full and have an increased craving for sweets. Additionally, rapid eating can cause metabolic problems.
