Some details of the criminal case of Ağanəbi Əliyev, who killed his daughter-in-law, have become known.
Medianews.az reports that the incident was recorded in May 2025 in the Maştağa settlement of the Sabunçu district of the capital.
It was determined during the investigation that Əliyev Ağanəbi Seyidmövsüm oglu reprimanded his daughter-in-law Dürdanə Əliyeva for not taking care of her children and frequently going to her relatives’ house.
This situation repeated several times, and on May 5, 2025, Dürdanə Əliyeva once again left the house without permission, ignoring his dissatisfaction. After this, an argument arose between the daughter-in-law and father-in-law, and Dürdanə Əliyeva insulted him with offensive expressions and expelled him from the house. Angered by this, Ağanəbi Əliyev decided to kill her.
Ağanəbi took a kitchen knife from his private house and entered the house where Dürdanə Əliyeva lived, delivering several knife stabs to her. He killed his daughter-in-law by inflicting a total of 6 knife wounds on her neck and abdominal areas.
As a result, he was charged under Article 120.1 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code.
It should also be noted that Dürdanə Əliyeva, who was killed, left behind three young children.
Let us remind that based on the verdict of Vüqar Seyidov, judge of the Baku Serious Crimes Court, dated April 9, 2026, Ağanəbi Əliyev was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment.
