Canada will participate in the "Eurovision" song contest for the first time in 2027.
According to Medianews.az, this was stated in a joint announcement by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
It was noted that this decision became possible after the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation was accepted as a full member of the European Broadcasting Union.
Canada ranked among the top three in votes in the "Rest of the World" category in 2026, and at the same time, was one of the countries with the highest number of spectators visiting the contest in Vienna. This indicates the high interest of Canadians in the contest.
Accordingly, the Canadian representative will perform in the semifinal to be held in Bulgaria.
