"Of course, like everyone else, I want to play at the best clubs in the world and at the highest level. I think this is a normal desire. This does not mean that I do not want to play for 'Qarabağ' or in Azerbaijan."
Medianews.az reports that these words were said by 'Qarabağ's goalkeeper Mateusz Kochalski in an interview with "Telegraph".
The 26-year-old goalkeeper, after the 2:3 defeat to "Newcastle" in the Champions League playoff round, expressed his reaction to the extensive discussion sparked by his interview with "The Sun" about offering himself to English clubs. Kochalski noted that his words were misunderstood and that he did not mean to say he would leave:
"I did not say that I am going to leave 'Qarabağ'. No, that's not the case. I simply want to play in the Premier League."
Kochalski also talked about the match in which they defeated "Araz-Nakhchivan" 6:0 in the 23rd round of the Azerbaijan Premier League:
"Finally, we achieved a good result. We scored six goals and kept a clean sheet. I am very happy. Of course, three points are very important for us. I am very glad and I hope that our team will play the same way or better in the next game."
It should be noted that Mateusz Kochalski, who transferred to 'Qarabağ' in 2024, has a contract that will expire in the summer of 2027.
